Wellnex in partnership with the National Dental Centre Singapore debunks Dental Myths next 31st May

We all understand what good dental hygiene is:

  • Brush your teeth at least twice a day, for few minutes

  • Manage your Sugar consumptions including Soda,

  • Go for a yearly dental check up, or

  • Dont smoke

Yet, you can miss some critical aspect of good hygiene or have wrong believe that may deteriorate you oral hygiene overall.

Next 31st of May, Wellnex invites Dr Chan Pei Yuan from the National Dental Centre Singapore to discuss about the myth of dental hygiene.

For 45 minutes, Dr Chan Pei Yuan will highlight the facts and fictions of managing your teeth.

We have often heard of statements such as “If my gums bleed when I floss, I should stop flossing”, “I need to brush my teeth harder so that my teeth can be clean”, “I don’t have to visit the dentist if nothing hurts” etc. We live in an era where information is readily available on the internet, but often or not, we do not question the authenticity of the information.

New developments in healthcare happen each day, and we discover that what thought to be true before is now misconceptions.

Here are few examples that could be highlighted during the seminar:

  • Myth 1: Sugar Causes Cavities.

  • Myth 2: Bleeding Gums Are Normal.

  • Myth 3: Brushing Harder Cleans Better.

  • Myth 4: Flossing Is Not Really Necessary

  • Myth 5: Chewing Gum Works Like Brushing,

  • Myth 6: White Teeth Are Healthy Teeth, or

  • Myth 7: Charcoal Toothpaste Is Better,

Blindly accepting common beliefs can result in detrimental consequences and may affect one’s overall oral health and general well-being. If in doubt, always ask a dental professional! In this talk, we will address some of the common myths about your teeth and gums.

Much more will be highlighted and you should join to discover the importance of getting the things right for your good dental hygiene.
